The event was a collaboration between the fashion society and Gaeilge society. It includes interviews from DJ’s, a graphic designer and people who grew up raving during the troubles. It centres around the idea of reclaiming certain words and stereotypes typically used to belittle women. The photographs are inspired by Riot Grrrls’ use of body writing as a form of protest against misogny in the 1990’s. The campaign consists of an event poster to advertise the exhibition, a plasma&nbsp; screen visual, social media visuals and an animated email invite. Visually it takes the form of a 6 part poster series,various billboards, merchandise,stage screen visuals and an instagram page. The branding imagery is derived from a pair of dancing hands which when stagnant reveal interesting abstract shapes in the movement. The video montage aims to visually summarise the escapism rave culture provided to young people despite the terror in their daily lives. Focusing on the juxtaposition of Northern Ireland on and off the dance floor, the film displays vivd clips of multiple raves across Northern Ireland from 1989-1996 contrasted by slightly muted clips of civil unrest during the troubles between 1988-1998. I enjoy working across a range of mediums as I am always keen to experiment and challenge myself whether it be through design, illustration, painting or printmaking.&nbsp; My artwork is predominately inspired by humans - their connections, their movements, their subcultures, their protests. Being somebody that loves high energy events held in creatively filled spaces designing branding for music, rave and nightlife events is where I flourish. I am passionate about establishing a unique and compelling identity for brands through a professional but artistically innovative approach. I have some experience in screen printing and book binding - I love making zines surrounding my current interests and gifting them to my friends and family on special occasions.
